Hi
So I know what you’re thinking, this is another doo-dah project that I’m starting up. I have many things that I’m working on, and sometimes it is too hard to keep up. Between work, tabletop games every other week, little vacation time, home obligations, learning new stuff, watching YouTube videos, plus the basics like eating and sleeping - I sometimes feel overwhelmed by life.
It’s not always stress and doom, don’t get me wrong. It is good to be alive at the age I’m in.
Regardless, let’s have a quick rundown:
Work
I currently work for JP Morgan Chase. It pays pretty well, the best pay I’ve gotten in a while. The benefits are great, I’m able to pack away a lot of money in different forms like a 401k, employee-discounted stock purchases, and they cover stuff like parking fees and a good suite of insurance policies.
I’m just not a massive fan of the amount of time I go over my 40 hours a week. Lately, by working at home, I’m waking up at 7 AM and not shutting down my session till eight at night. Sure, I’ll take a break for lunch and dinner, but I don’t want to live in front of my computer 10 hours a day, seven days a week. People shouldn’t have to live like that. Maybe I need to stand up for myself more often and say, ‘vacation is vacation.’
Tabletop days
I’m grateful that I have a close-knit group of friends with whom I can hang out every other week. Since I don’t have a spouse or kids, I need a way to get out of the house for a reason and interact with human meatbags in person. I get the luxury of doing that by rolling dice with character sheets, sitting around a table with 7 of my friends.
In the manosphere, what I have is rare and should be significantly treasured.
Home stuff
Man… 2020 was not good for home stuff. I had needed to get some electrical work done and get a ceiling fan put in - only to have nobody able to come to my house to fix the gouges and slices in my drywall. Granted, I still have to tidy up for somebody to come back now. It also didn’t help that I leaked the kitchen sink destroyed my master bedroom closet. It is still moldy as hell in there. I already was reimbursed for the repairs from insurance… just.. nobody is out there to do the work.
